Annie Mosity. Yes, my name is a cheap pun.

I like making things, complaining, and complaining about making things.

I try to blog enough pretty clothes to make up for my constant complaining and fandom nonsense, because I really love pretty clothes.

But I'm also a big ol' queer who cares about politics, so there's that.

My art tag is this.

My sewing tag is this.

My pretty clothes tag is here!

ugh and fraser just assumes there will be a next time FRASER

Ray: “I just like a woman who is, you know, a woman!”

Fraser: “Oh, that’s—that’s picky, Ray.”

Ray: “Oh, don’t get in a snit.”

Fraser: “I’m not!”

Ray: “Well good!”

Fraser: “Fine!”

Ray: “So what’re you doing after work?”

Fraser: “Nothing with you.”

Ray: “You’re so sensitive!”

Okay, and Ray’s…good lord, I don’t even know what to call that.  Casual cissexism and biological determinism and binarism?  It’s a pretty gross comment.  Anyway, Ray’s grossness (and written-in-the-90s-on-a-cop-show) aside…this exchange is a great example of what is so delightful (and so totally moiraillegiance) about Fraser and Vecchio’s relationship.

Grading papers indeed.

ugh his sassy hair flip THAT WAS TOTALLY UNNECESSARY FRASER.  Though, I do understand: the temptation to sassily flip hair is pretty high.  I miss having hair long enough to sassily flip after a smart-ass remark.

“Fungus, Ray.”

“Of course.”

Pictured: goofy moirail dancing.

Bad tangoes are a thing good enough friends are contractually obligated to do, at least as far as I can tell.  I have tangoed badly with most of my friends—but you have to be at a certain level.  It’s like a checkpoint on the “goofy friendship” list.  Above “stealing food off each other’s plates” but below “bursting into spontaneous showtunes”.

Here’s a thing I don’t think I’ve noticed before!

Fraser’s…let’s call it “divisive” wig and this girl’s hair!  (Melissa, I think).  This girl, whom Fraser advises throughout the episode, has almost exactly the same hairstyle as the wig Fraser wears.  Especially in the scenes when they’re together (in a lot of the scenes with Fraser in drag but Melissa is not in the scene, Fraser pulls his hair back in a loose ponytail).  Which aligns them, visually, and associates them in the audience’s mind.  I think it also foreshadows how Melissa ultimately tries to do the right thing, even though it’s at great personal risk.

Or, in sillier terms: Fraser’s Stupid Good alignment is contagious through hairstyle.  (And through other things, which we see over and over again throughout the series; Fraser is so pigheadedly good that people can’t help but live up to his ridiculous standards.)

“So you want me to file my teeth?”

HE ACTUALLY THINKS ABOUT IT.  ”Hmm, would filing her teeth help?  Probably not, in this situation, no.”

“Is that perfume, Fraser?”

“Passionflower, ma’am.”

I love Thatcher.  She gets shafted in a lot of Due South fanwork, because, I mean, the Rays, but let’s face it: Thatcher is great.  That’s objectively true.  And her relationship with Fraser is so weird and complicated and they let it be weird and complicated.  Closure is not a part of this relationship.  They have a weird Thing, make out on top of a train, and then go back to having a weird Thing, because, well, they do.

(Homestuck has ruined me for shipping in Due South, because now I’m all about Thatcher and Fraser blackrom vacillating.  And also Victoria and Fraser blackrom vacillating.  Fraser/ladies/blackrom ot3?)

(also Fraser<>Vecchio THEY ARE MY PALETP who are not opposed to making out sometimes maybe, which has nothing to do with the rest of this post, but I like talking about it)

Fraser looks really good in drag but damn someone needs to teach this man to walk in heels.  Or skirts.  Not sure what the problem is, exactly, honestly.  But he is femmeing it up in this episode, but swaggering like me in jeans.  Not a great look with his suit, imo.

(ugh but the suits and dresses he wears in this episode are so great.  and i will defend to the death Fraser’s wig.)

also: wow, Fraser is really great at putting on makeup.  Did he learn that skill out of a book in his grandma’s library?  Because I’m pretty sure “makeup application” is not a skill the RCMP teaches.

See, I think that’s all in character. Meticulous attention to detail, but he can’t help walking… like he’s in uniform. Like he’s embodying his uniform, and vice versa.

That’s a good point!  We end up seeing Fraser in a lot of different contexts throughout the show, and even when he acts differently, most of his body language (including his walk) stays exactly the sane.

(also omg i didn’t know you watched due south! YAY.)

I have nothing interesting to say about this cap.  Paul Gross is just attractive.  And, as previously established, Fraser is pretty good at makeup application.  And he’s partially in/out of uniform here.

This is probably my favorite part of this episode, because I am a shallow, shallow individual.

Although, lemme say something: these terrible clip-on earrings.  Are terrible.  And are like…way too high up and back on his ears.

Fraser’s got a run.

Brand new stockings, too.  Damn.  (I know that feel, bro.  Which is why I stopped caring.  Now I just wear tights and stockings with runs.  But I suppose I’m not a dapper RCMP officer going undercover as a teacher at a Catholic school.)

(Wow, the set up for this episode is silly.)

(God, I love this episode.)

Vecchio’s inability to deal with things in a picture:

No one is more shocked than Vecchio that the episode I watch to calm myself down is the one where Fraser dresses in drag to teach at a Catholic school.

(Actually I think that is not what Vecchio is shocked about at all.)
