ugh

i love vampire lore and literature but

why is there always this fetishizing of how pale they are

look man if you are trying to say they look dead…that is a different kind of pale.  it does not look like “cream”.

Also how come it’s always white people getting turned or being the big bad?  The people of color just get used as food while the white people get to live eternally as monsters with varying degrees of their previous personalities.  That is fucked up.

Mostly I just wonder if we’d get away from the cliches about smooth, milky skin if all vampires weren’t always fucking white.  Way to be a lazy writer several times over, every vampire book I’ve ever read.
